2020 - 2021 Student Officer Team

Elliot Ginzburg

president [at] patsa.org

Hello PA-TSA! I’m Elliot Ginzburg, and I am proud to be your 2020-2021 State President. I am currently a senior at Lower Merion High School, and this is my 7th year in TSA. This year, I’m excited to compete in my favorite events Chapter Team, Biotechnology Design, Webmaster, and Engineering Design. In the little time that I’m not working on my events or coordinating STEM outreach opportunities in my community, you can find me swimming for my school’s team, playing the trumpet, leading my school’s debate team, and serving as Editor-in-Chief for my school’s newspaper. I love being outdoors engaging in my favorite hobbies - sailing, running, swimming, and fishing. This school year, I’m eager to follow through on my campaign promises to you by making effective change within PA-TSA. Our team is going to be working on numerous exciting initiatives to continue to improve our state. Keep an eye out for improvements to our social media pages, college outreach and more! Remember to join committees––joining committees is the best way to get involved and help advance PA-TSA! Please, at any time this year, contact me at president [at] patsa.org. Feel free to send questions, suggestions, or ideas! I’m looking forward to the best states yet just as much as you guys, and I can’t wait to see everyone there!

Evan Grove
Vice President

vice_president [at] patsa.org

Hey there again PA-TSA! My name is Evan Grove, and I’m beyond excited to be serving as your 2020-2021 State Vice President. I am currently a rising junior at South Western High School and this will be my fifth year in TSA. This year, I can’t wait to crack down on Roberts Rules of Order for Chapter Team and compete in my other favorite events including Engineering Design, Debating Technological Issues, and Future Tech Teacher. When you won’t find me pulling all-nighters for this organization, I’ll likely be on the golf course, wakeboarding on the lake, staying after school for Key Club and Student Council, or camping with my local Boy Scout Troop. The little free time that these groups don’t consume is often spent with my best friends and Netflix account. As Vice President, I look forward to implementing member-run sessions into our FLEX Conference and continuing the Recycled Clothing Initiative launched last year. Plan to see these ideas and more incorporated into the Regional Reps Committee - as the chair, I guarantee you won’t regret joining. For any questions or concerns, feel free to send me an email at vice_president [at] patsa.org. I can’t wait to kick off this year of TSA with my fellow state officers and hope to see everyone in person at the 43rd state conference!

Megan Cooper

secretary [at] patsa.org

Hello fellow PA-TSA members! Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Megan Cooper and I am honored to serve as your 2020-2021 State Secretary. I am a Senior at The Baldwin School, and I am ecstatic to participate in my 6th year in TSA. This year, I cannot wait to spend late nights sewing garments for the Fashion Design and Technology event, and searching for ¾” masking tape for Technology Problem Solving. In my limited free time, I am a competitive 1 and 3-meter springboard diver, I serve on my school’s Senate, and I am an advanced open-water scuba diver. I am fluent in French, and never hesitate to mention that I can recite 55 digits of pi. As Secretary, I have already begun devising a schedule for the Outreach Committee, and I cannot wait to start reaching out to corporate sponsors, partners, and STEM organizations to improve your TSA experience! I highly encourage you to join if you are interested in outreach, graphic design, or simply want to be more involved with TSA at the State level. As always, please feel free to reach out with any questions or suggestions– or if you just want to talk to someone! I am always happy to meet new TSA members. You can email me at secretary [at] patsa.org. I look forward to talking with you at FLEX, Regionals, and States! In the meantime, good luck with your events!

This year, I’m looking forward to competing in my favorite events such as Promotional Design, Engineering Design, and PA Logo Design. Outside of TSA, some extracurriculars that I participate in include leading my STEM organization, volunteering at a tutoring center, and making some robots with my FIRST Robotics team. I’ll also be doing an internship at a local manufacturing company, playing tennis for Downingtown West, traveling, and spending time with friends. When I’m not busy with TSA, you can find me at my dance studio learning Ballet, Pointe, Jazz, Modern, and more. I am also an avid photographer, and I love taking photos of anything from animals to scenery, and everything in between. This year I am looking forward to giving back to TSA by following through with my campaign initiatives and Co-Chairing the Communications and Promotions Committee (which you should join!). Through this committee, I cannot wait to meet and work with you, the members, to improve our social media presence (@PennsylvaniaTSA) and create beautiful graphics. Some of my favorite events include Chapter Team, Fashion Design, and Biotechnology. In the time I’m not reading Robert’s Rules or sketching up clothes, I’m usually publicizing Harriton Theater Company’s next show, writing for my school’s news station, HHS-TV, practicing a piece for Speech and Debate, or trying to lower my carbon footprint with my school’s environmental club. I also enjoy dancing and spending time with my friends. This year, I’m so excited to follow up on my campaign promises, and chair the Conference Sessions and Activities Committee, which I encourage you to join. We’ll be planning out Special Interest Sessions, ensuring that States is the best it can be. Throughout my years in TSA, I have loved getting the opportunity to meet and work with members from all over the state in committees. I’m excited to get the opportunity to begin my favorite event in the upcoming year, Biotechnology Design. I enjoy hiking to relieve stress, baking, and spending time with my dog, Bruiser.
