2022 - 2023 Student Officer Team
Michelle Zheng |
Hey PA-TSA! My name is Michelle Zheng, and I am honored to be serving as your 2022-2023 State President. As a senior at Richland High School, this is my sixth and final year of TSA. This year, I can’t wait to learn about revolutionary breakthroughs in Biotechnology Design, create outside-the-box solutions in Engineering Design, and practice my video editing and speaking skills in Future Technology Teacher. Outside of TSA, you can find me playing tunes on a piano, running across a soccer field, or working shows at my school’s theater. As an officer, I’m excited to see initiatives come to life and hopefully leave a lasting impact on our incredible organization along the way. The State Officer Team is already hard at work: filming videos, expanding resources for members, planning social media content, and so much more! To our amazing members, I encourage you to make the most of every moment during your time in TSA. Get involved in committees, talk to students from across the state, have fun competing in events, or maybe even run for an officer position! Most importantly, the State Officers are here to serve all of you and are always looking for new ways to improve, so don’t hesitate to reach out to me at president [at] patsa.org if you have any questions, concerns, or need anything at all. I hope you all have an amazing year and see you at conferences soon! |
Zane Al-Saleem |
Hey PA-TSA! My name is Zane Al-Saleem, and I’m incredibly excited to be serving as your 2022-2023 State Vice President. I am currently a senior at Plymouth Whitemarsh High School and this will be my sixth year in TSA. I can’t wait to continue working with committee members to better engage the state delegation. When I’m not busy with TSA, I love to drive around with friends, volunteer as a tutor, and I also enjoy photography and cinematography. As your Vice President, I plan to continue strengthening our regional engagement and connectivity through the Regional Representatives Committee. Through stronger regional connectivity, the delegation will see more engagement on the state level. I also plan to continue my work from last year, integrating more college readiness resources onto the PA-TSA website and conferences. Additionally, I will carry on the initiatives we started with last year’s state officer team. I hope to continue representing you, the members of PA-TSA, in order to create a stronger community of individuals that can lead us to the future. If you need any assistance or support at all please feel free to email me at vice_president [at] patsa.org. |
Eryn McKendree
|
Hey PA-TSA! My name is Eryn McKendree, and I am extremely honored to be serving as your 2022-2023 State Secretary. I am currently a senior at Richland High School, and this is my sixth year in TSA. This year, I am beyond excited to compete in my favorite event, Engineering Design, as well as a few others, like Photographic Technology and Architectural Design. On the rare occasion that I am not doing TSA, you might find me practicing the cello, swimming laps with my school’s swim team, or reading up on the latest environmental science or biology breakthroughs. As your secretary, I am looking forward to introducing and establishing new opportunities for PA-TSA, and working with my team to bring a whole list of fun initiatives to reality. I will also be chairing the Outreach Committee, which works to communicate with organizations, colleges, and potential sponsors to benefit PA-TSA. If you want to be a part of improving PA-TSA, or are looking for a fun way to get involved, I highly encourage you to consider joining the Outreach Committee. Definitely be sure to be on the lookout for committee sign ups on the PA-TSA instagram and website. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at secretary [at] patsa.org and I’ll be happy to help. Miriam Ruback |
Hi PA-TSA! My name is Miriam Ruback, and I am pleased and privileged to serve as your state Treasurer. I am a senior at State College Area High School and in my 6th year of TSA. My favorite event is Architectural Design. Outside of TSA, you can find me playing the cello, competing in debate and quiz bowl, and working to improve my school and district by serving on committees that help to reduce racial prejudice, promote religious tolerance, and enhance students’ academic performance. I also run a non-profit organization that provides menstrual products to students in my district. In my free time, I love reading, painting, hiking, and baking. I look forward to serving as your chair of the National Service Project Committee. Together we will fundraise for your chapter and for the American Cancer Society! If you have any comments, suggestions, or questions, please contact me at treasurer [at] patsa.org. |
Charlize Amper |
Hey PA-TSA! My name is Charlize Amper, and I’m ecstatic to serve as your state reporter this school year. I’m currently a junior at Bishop McCort Catholic High School and this is my fifth year in TSA. I’ve competed in thirteen different events over my years, but I still cannot pick a favorite. I can’t wait to make more memories through TSA this year. Outside of TSA, I take various dance classes and work as a junior teacher to help younger kids learn to dance. I’m part of my school’s National Honors Society, Mu Alpha Theta, and French Honors Society chapters. I compete in duo drama in Speech and Debate, read for Interscholastic Reading Competition, serve as a committee member for Mini-THON, play in my school’s orchestra, and participate in many other clubs. When I have time, I love hanging out with my friends and family, traveling around the world, and documenting it all on Instagram. As your state reporter this year, I’ll be co-chairing the Communications and Promotions Committee (CAPC) along with our state historian, Margo. It’s a great fit for those who share our interests in creating videos or graphic designing. I’m super excited to work on initiatives that help expand our social media presence, make TSA easier to understand, and bring the state together. Don’t forget that you can reach out to me for anything through my email at reporter [at] patsa.org. I cannot wait to see you all at this year’s regional and state conferences! |
Elijah Adu
|
Hello, PA-TSA! I am Elijah Adu, and I’m honored to be serving as your Sergeant at Arms for the 2022–2023 academic year. I am currently a senior at State College Area High School, making this will be my sixth and final year in TSA. I am looking forward to competing in my favorite events, Tech Bowl and Technology Problem Solving. When I’m not doing work for TSA, you can find me arguing with people as the president of my school’s speech and debate club, working to build an inclusive world as the coordinator of my region’s No Place For Hate, navigating the market as the president of a micro mutual fund, or working on cutting-edge research at my job on a joint Penn State NASA space mission. When I have free time, I spend it reading, playing board games, and hanging out with my friends. As Sergeant at Arms, I co-chair the Conference Sessions and Activities Committee, where we will work to create a memorable States experience through special interest sessions. This year, we will be working on bringing a promotional materials workshop to states, bringing back TSA favorites like the Minecraft and Smash Bros special interest sessions, and working on whatever cool ideas CSAC committee members bring to the table. We would love to have you on our team, so sign up at Committees (Pennsylvania Technology Student Association (patsa.org). If you have any questions, contact me at sergeant_at_arms [at] patsa.org . I’m looking forward to seeing you at States! |
Margo Wyckoff |
Hi PA-TSA, I’m Margo Wyckoff and I am elated to be serving as your 2022-2023 State Historian. Currently, I’m a sophomore at State College Area High School and I am entering my 5th year in TSA. I can’t wait to generate new ideas in my favorite events (Promotional Design and Data Science and Analytics) or to battle it out in Board Game Design. When I’m not trying to finish up my TSA projects, you can find me on the field, on the dance floor, or on the slopes. I love playing on my school’s field hockey team, dancing in the yearly Mini-THON fundraising event, and teaching kids how to shred it up on the slopes while earning my Level-1 certification in snow sports instruction. In my free-time, I enjoy reading, playing the piano, crocheting, or whipping something up in the kitchen. I am beyond excited to be co-chairing the Communications and Promotions Committee (CAPC) with our State Reporter, Charlize! If you are interested in helping create graphics or videos for our social media pages, I encourage you to join CAPC, no matter your skill level. I know we will have tons of fun! If you have any questions or concerns, or just want to say hello, don’t hesitate to email me at historian [at] patsa.org. I cannot wait to see you all at our 45th State Conference! |

Outside of TSA, you’ll find me playing in my school’s orchestra, on our baseball team, or skiing with my family. I love getting involved with my community and helping teach kids at my Hebrew school. When I’m not doing any of those, you’ll probably find me hanging out with my friends or playing golf. This year, I can’t wait to chair the Bylaw and Resolution Review Committee. BARRC focuses on PA-TSA bylaw amendments in the beginning of the year, and then shifts to the State Conference’s parliamentary procedure special intesterst session.
