Biotechnology Design (High School)

Boyertown Senior High School

2nd Place 2014 National Conference, 1st Place 2014 State Conference

Team Members: Mason Biehn, Adam Gilbert, Haley Weller from Boyertown Senior High School

Description: The Biotechnology Design prompt for the 2013-2014 school year was the role of biotechnology in water and waste technology, so our team researched oil spill bioremediation. In this scientific practice, oil-eating microorganisms are used to clean up oil spills.

Advice From Team: Think outside the box! Make your project stand out from the crowd by choosing an unusual topic.

SciVis (High School)

Plymouth Whitemarsh High School

3rd Place 2013 National Conference, 3rd Place 2013 State Conference

Team Members: Samantha Horry, Seth Horry, Dalton Versak, Thomas Gerstein, Greg Richards from Plymouth Whitemarsh High School

Advice From Team: Make sure that you spend time on your binder as well as your animation. You don’t want to do all this work and have the judges not appreciate the work you did. Make sure your binder explains your hard work and highlights why your video is special. Also, my team choose to use our biotechnology topic as the basis of our video, since we already had researched and understood our topic deeply.
