Spirit of Service Award

Each year, National TSA and the American Cancer Society present the Spirit of Service Awards to chapters (and state delegations) who donate money to the American Cancer Society.

As of 2017-2018, in order to inspire more chapters to participate in fundraising with TSA’s National Service Project, as well as recognize those who have, PA-TSA has implemented the American Cancer Society Fundraising Award. PA-TSA has 5 levels of achievement, listed below.

“During the school year, TSA chapters across our state raised money to help fund the vital research, education, advocacy, and patient services of the American Cancer Society.

“All contributions from May 1st, 2017-April 9, 2018 [the PA-TSA deadline, Note: National TSA’s time frame is different] each year will be tallied and counted towards this goal. Please record your fundraising efforts this year by filling out the form. The deadline for fundraising submissions this year is April 9th. To learn where to send your fundraising dollars, go to www.cancer.org, and click on ‘Find A Local ACS’. Send your check to the address of your local ACS.”

Chapters will be recognized by the State Treasurer during the Business meeting at the PA-TSA State Conference. Recognized chapters will be awarded with a certificate for their chapter’s contributions.

Chapters who will be attending the national conference should follow the National TSA regulations and submit the required forms to national TSA.
