2015 State Conference Minutes

The annual business meeting of the Pennsylvania Technology Student Association came to order at 8:02 p.m. on Friday, April 17, 2015 in the Exhibit Hall at the Seven Springs Resort in Champion, Pennsylvania during the 2015 State Conference. All officers were present. A quorum was established. The 2014-2015 State President, Ben Cutler, and the 2014-2015 State Secretary, Lisa Gardner, were present. Several guests were present including parents, alumni, and representatives from the award and scholarship committees. The minutes from the previous meeting were read and approved with no corrections by the assembly.

            Mathi Talmilmani, the 2014-2015 State Treasurer read the treasurer’s report. It was received as read and placed on file, subject for audit.

            The delegates commenced the second round of voting run-offs.

            Olivia Crocker and Ben Grunauer, the 2014-2015 Green Committee co-chairs gave the Green Committee Report.

            Luke Artz, the 2014-2015 State Vice President gave the Membership Committee report.

            Mathi Talmilmani introduced representative Stephanie Delp from the American Cancer Society. Ms. Delp led the assembly in the Luminaria Ceremony. Madame Treasurer gave the report on ACS fundraising and presented Ms. Delp with a check totaling the amount of money raised throughout the conference.

            The delegates commenced the third round of voting run-offs.

            Beth Barbis, the 2014-2015 State Sergeant-At-Arms introduced the guest speakers to present their awards.

            There was no unfinished business to come before the assembly.

            There was no new business to come before the assembly.

            Mr. President invited the State Officer Advisors - Mr. and Mrs. Rickert to the stage to announce the officers elect. They announced that any members seeking an appointed position should meet following the meeting.

            State Conference Director, Ms. Lapinski gave announcements for the good of the order.

            Mr. President entertained a motion to adjourn. Madame Secretary made the motion to adjourn. It passed with a majority vote in the affirmative and the assembly adjourned to meet the following morning for the Award Ceremony.
