About
Mission Statement: The PA-TSA Green Initiative promotes environmental awareness and activism within the PA-TSA organization and aspires to expand efforts to TSA members state-wide, nationally, and internationally.
The PA-TSA Green Initiative and Environmental Committee were approved by the Pennsylvania TSA State Officer Team at the PA-TSA Annual Leadership Conference and Board of Director's (BOD) meeting at Bucknell University in July of 2009. Since then, the committee has worked towards implementing innovative environment-promoting events/ideas that will set the precedent for future environmental initiatives within career/technical student organizations and allow PA-TSA to make a positive impact on our 21st century society.
Electronic Submission Project Survey (7/5/10)
At the PA-TSA Green Initiative special interest session at our State Conference, we discussed the Electronic Submission Project. The Electronic Submission Project was founded as a replacement to the Duplex Printing Project. The aim of it is to reduce the amount of paper that TSA uses by allowing students to submit their events through electronic means instead of having to print them out. Since TSA events are created on the computer, this could allow us to skip the unnecessary step of printing things out that is slowly disappearing in the business world and in the educational world.
The PA-TSA Green Committee will be passing along our work to the PA-TSA Board of Directors at the Summer Leadership Conference at Bucknell University. The Board will take it to the National TSA Competition Regulations Committee when they meet in September 2010. According to sources from the CRC, they will be working on revising middle school events. To help us get started, we would like some opinions from all of you on how we should proceed, what events and why, and what you think of our ideas so far. That is why we created this survey. Bucknell is drawing near, so please fill this out as soon as possible.

Survey Deadline Has PassedIf you have any ideas after you submit the form, just remember that you can always email them to the committee at green@patsa.org. If you have any other ideas for the Green Initiative before Bucknell, even if you've already shared them with Phil or me, please email us at green@patsa.org. Thanks for helping out!
Sincerely,
Josh Hoffman

Website Launch
The Environmental Committee and State Officer Team would like to thank Mr. Miller, Mr. Ferry, and the PA-TSA BOD Technology Committee for helping to establish a number of technological resources pertaining to the Green Initiative. This new set of communication tools including a web page, news feed, and email for the Environmental Committee will help us expand our member-based initiatives and reach out to all members of PA-TSA including advisors, alumni, and students. We plan on posting project proposals, progress reports, environmental conservation ideas, fundraising opportunities, and more as we develop our electronic outreach program. Please stay tuned!
