State Advisor Update Feb 2017

LEAP

Here is an overview of LEAP and its three tracks.

  • Competition Engagement - TSA members complete a LEAP resume, which shows leadership activities and experiences connected to specific competitions and leadership categories. (HIGH SCHOOL level only for the 2017 national TSA conference in Orlando.)
  • LEAP Legacy Chapter - TSA chapters compete by demonstrating their involvement in leadership activities with the goal of becoming a national winner at the national TSA conference.  Cash prizes are awarded for the top three chapters on the national level.
  • On-site leadership training based on the Student Leadership Challenge - approximately 2000 TSA members who attend the national TSA conference will have the opportunity to participate in free training sessions.
Below is some verbiage that you can send to your chapters or post in your state delegation media channels:

LEAP Legacy Chapter is a great opportunity for your chapter to show off its leadership skills, compete against other chapters from around the nation, and win a cash prize for your school. Only ten middle school and ten high school LEAP Legacy chapters from across the country will be selected to advance as national semifinalists and participate at the national TSA conference in Orlando, Florida. Electronic portfolio submissions are due no later than March 30, 2017. Learn more about LEAP Legacy Chapter and how to submit your chapter’s portfolio at http://www.tsaweb.org/LEAP-legacy-chapter.
