2013 PA-TSA Conference Welcome

It seems like just yesterday that I was writing to all of you to welcome you back to school and to the 2012-2013 TSA school year.  Here we are just several weeks away from the 2013 PA-TSA State Conference at Seven Springs.   I hope everyone is having as much fun as my students and I are having this year in TSA. It is crunch time, and I am sure many of you are finalizing work on events for states and making all of your projects worthy of the competition you will face.  I hope you used your regional conferences as a gauge to check out your projects and then used the weeks that followed to make the projects even better.

Your PA-TSA State Officers have worked very hard to make the 2013 State Conference the best ever! There will be old game and gaming system raffles.  Give Ironman a try and see if you can take the PA-TSA Ironman crown.  If you would like to learn more about Smartphone App Development, Parliamentary Procedure, 3D Printing on Budget, or Interviewing for Job attend a special interest session. If you just want to chill out and listen to some great talent, stop by “Open Mic Night” on Wednesday Night. Any money collected in raffles will directly benefit the American Cancer Society (don’t forget those Pie-in-the-face-Cans). The theme of the Friday Night Activities is officially Neon, so bring your brightest neon items.

Some of you are probably already looking forward to the 2013 National TSA Conference in June-July. With our current weather, Orlando, Florida would be a welcome change in climate for many of us.  I would hope you would put just a little extra effort into qualifying and then traveling to Orlando to meet with and compete against the best that TSA has to offer from around our great country. Let’s have the biggest and best delegation EVER !

One last note from our State Conference Director Lauren Lapinski, once again, students will have the opportunity to request specific, individualized feedback on their entries.  To do so, students will need to include a copy of the Feedback Form with their project. This form is located on PATSA.org/states. Specific instructions are located on the form.

IMPORTANT: Please understand that the goal of this feedback form is to provide students with information to be used for future project improvement. Judging decisions CANNOT be appealed based on information found on this form. Additionally, please keep in mind that all our judges are volunteers and often judge multiple events. All judges will be encouraged to fill out this form, if it appears with a project, but may not be able to do so due to a high number of entries and/or time constraints.

PA-TSA students and advisors, thank you for all you do to make PA-TSA the best delegation in the country!

See you on April 17th at the 2013 PA-TSA State Conference!!  Have an outstanding conference and stop and say hi if you see me.  I am easily to find during the ceremonies.  Look for the guy with the most TSA pins!
