November 2008 State Officer Message

Hey PATSA, the year is thoroughly underway, and we’ve been hard at work getting things ready for states.  The State Officers just recently attended the Technology Educators Association of Pennsylvania Conference where we set up a booth with information about TSA.  Your Vice President Caitlyn Riehl worked extremely hard in getting information out to interested teachers, and PATSA can be sure to expect some new chapters.

One of the main events that we all look forward to is the Friday Night Activity at States.  This year the officers have decided on the theme “Friday Night Lights”  and we are encouraging everyone to dress up in sports clothing in the spirit of the night.  We will continue the dance/carnival format and there will be games and great prizes, so we hope to see you all there!

Some of the changes we have made this year are to Iron Man and Got Game events.  Got Game’s popularity has grown over the past few years, so we have now made room for more participants in the Guitar Hero and Madden Tournaments we will be holding at States.  Iron Man will also increase its participation, and we will be recognizing Middle School Students and High School Students separately with cash prizes, and we will be recognizing the top advisor.

Be on the lookout for the PA POST which has important information about what the state officers are planning for you state conference.  Good luck with your projects, and remember, the Regional Conferences are only a few short months away!
