Fall State Conference Update for 2010
By Lauren Lapinski
Sep 13, 2009 - 3:50:27 PM

Please read below for a brief list of changes that will be taking place with the upcoming State Conference:

  1. The change in registration payment will remain the same for 2010 as it was for 2009. Seven Springs will no longer accept the registration fee and hotel registration as one payment. This means that advisors will need to have two checks ? one payable to Seven Springs for the hotel and one payable to PA-TSA for the conference registration. Checks for hotel registration can be mailed to Seven Springs prior to the conference. Checks for PA-TSA conference registration should be brought to the conference and given to a member of the conference planning team at registration Wednesday night.
  2. The rates for the upcoming conference are available on the PA-TSA website.
  3. The dates for this year?s conference (April 14-17, 2010) fall during PSSA testing. Be proactive within your school district to increase students? chances of attendance. Visit the PA-TSA website for a letter you can use to help approach the subject with your administration.
  4. There have been many changes to the event list, particularly for Middle School. Make sure you are using the most updated list which can be found on the PA-TSA website in Appendix E of the handbook.
  5. All written tests will be administered on Wednesday night and Thursday morning of the conference. The same procedures will be used as the last two years. Please make sure your students are prepared to take all necessary tests during these sessions as no make up test will be given.
  6. As the live-streaming of the Awards Ceremony was so successful last year, we are currently working on ways to expand our coverage in hopes that parents and administrators back home will be able to experience more of the conference.

If you have any questions or concerns, please ask ahead of time so that an effective solution can be determined. We welcome suggestions as we are continuously working to improve the PA-TSA State Conference.

Additionally, please contact me if you are interested in volunteering your time either leading up to the conference or during the conference, we have several opportunities available. Look forward to seeing you in April!
