Become an Officer!

After some last minute reviews of the State Officer Application process, we made some slight modifications to the process.  We realized that the old forms did not give a student a way to submit the information needed digitally, requiring the application to be mailed.  We also realized their was a problem with the Candidate Agreement, that a student could get to far in the process without having the proper chapter and school district approvals.

What do you need to do?  Go http://PATSA.org/BecomeAnOfficer/  From there, the process could not be much more simple.

  • Step 1 - Download the Candidate Packet -
Review the information in this packet completely. Use the forms as worksheets, to help you in the on-line process.
  • Step 2 - Download and Sign the Candidate Agreement -
You must be endorsed by your chapter adivsor, school officials and parent/guardian to run for a state office. Obtain all signature on this form, SHOW IT to your chapter advisor and BRING IT to the state conference
  • Step 3 - State Officer Authorization
 - Chapter Advisors, once a student SHOWS YOU the Completed Signed Agreement, you must:
    • log into iServices
    • from the main menu in iServices, Click on State Officer Authorization
    • Click "Add a New Candidate", and
      • Fill in the Name
      • Email Address and
      • Office for the candidate.
    • GIVE THEM the Application ID the system issues.
  • Step 4 - Submit your Application
 - Candidate, obtain your Application ID and your School Code from your chapter advisor. Go to the above link, and complete your application. You may edit your application up to the deadline date (March 30, 2010).
This process makes sure the advisor is reviewing the Candidate Agreement.  The advisor potion takes less than 5 minutes.

If you have the old style application, YOU WILL NOT BE TURNED AWAY, complete the steps as described in the application.   Either process has the same deadlines and requires the same information, the new process gives you a quick and easy way to submit your resume digitally!
