Here we are in November already. Many Pennsylvania TSA chapters are already affiliated, but there are many more that are not. Now is a great time to get registered at the National TSA office. When you do, you will receive the TSA Chapter CD that has the rules for the events for 2010. Remember the middle school CD is new. There are some minor tweeks in the high school CD. Make sure you are not using last year's rules. We keep getting questions about juniors that are required to take the PSSA tests that are at the same time as the PA TSA State Conference. Attached is a letter from Lauren Lapinski (State Conference Director) and myself that you can freely adapt and use for your administration. In the end, it is up to each school district's administration to determine how to deal with TSA juniors and the conference. PA TSA has a long standing policy that students must be in attendance to participate. If your juniors are not allowed to go to states and participate, this is what they still can do (look at the glass half full:). They CAN participate at the regional conference. They CAN participate in National non qualifying events at the discretion of their advisor. They CAN participate and grow technologically for next year. © Copyright by PATSA.org |
