“Learning to Live in a Technical World”

As I rode home in the rain from the 2011 PA-TSA State Conference, all I could think of was the amount of talent that PA has in all of the TSA chapters in our state.  The projects in Festival Hall from the beautiful to the future thinking. I kept thinking that as a teenager there is no way I could ever live up to the level of excellence that our PA-TSA members demonstrate every year.

I would also like to commend every student on the mature behavior that I saw. I don't think you can put any other group of 1600 students in such an environment and have such respect, gratitude, and manners. Over and over I saw students treating each other, adults, judges, and vendors with thank yous, pleases, and allowing them to walk through crowded doorways first. This may seem like a simple thing, but in today's culture these are getting to be rare traits. As we streamed the general sessions in the web, all I kept thinking was - I hope many of our "respected leaders" are seeing this and learning lessons. I swelled with pride.

I would be remiss if I did not mention the State Officer Team and the Conference Planning Team on another excellent event after a year of planning. A special commendation goes out to Miss Lapinski, our Conference Director, who organizes everything before hand, answers a million questions and takes care of every imaginable problem - including those of her students.

I say - Look out Dallas, Look out TSA chapters attending the National Conference, Pennsylvania is coming and we are going to show the rest of the TSA chapters how things are done PA Style !
