Congratulations to everyone who attended the national conference in June and very well done to all that were able to attain a finalist pin or better in an event. That is a wonderful accomplishment. Everyone who attended the conference is a winner. You have demonstrated the ability and knowledge to get to the next level of problem solving. If you are going to attend the national conference in Baltimore in June 2010, you will have to prepare equally as hard.

We also had a great time at the Bucknell Leadership conference, with students learning leadership skills, the Board of Directors doing TSA business. The board also did a test of the new Tech Talk contest in a real life situation!

Welcome to the 2009-2010 TSA School year. This year promises to be a very exciting year since the national conference will be in Baltimore MD - virtually in our own back yard. At Denver this year we had the largest delegation and with nationals being so close we hope to repeat our size of delegation and the quality of work that PA-TSA has demonstrated in the past.

The middle schools have new events rules and there are some very exciting new events as well as some revamped ones from the past. So make sure you read the rules!

Your state officer team is working hard to make the 2010 PA-TSA State Conference the best ever. They will be sending details out later on the PATSA.ORG website so keep checking back for more details.

There is a new award that is posted on PATSA.ORG. The award was designed and developed by Dan Zollman in 2008 when he was a PA-TSA State student officer. The award is the PA-TSA Inspiration Award.

" The purpose of technology is to improve society and meet human needs. TSA and Technology Education teach leadership, teamwork, problem solving, and engineering skills with this ultimate goal in mind. This new chapter award emphasizes that global consciousness and helping other people are more important than winning at competitive events themselves. By celebrating the true purpose of technological innovation, this award will put contribution to society over self-gain, promote gracious attitudes, and encourage more students to change the way they regard science and technology.

Details can be found here- http://www.patsa.org/students/inspiration_award.php.

For the advisors, watch for the back to school information that will be posted on PATSA.ORG. Also posted on the website is a letter for your administrators to head off any possible problems with the conflict of the PSSA tests and the State Conference. We are leaving it as a word document so you can edit it as you need to for your own use.

Welcome back to another exciting TSA year.    PA TSA HOW DO YOU FEEL ! ?
