Pennsylvania Technology Student Association (PA-TSA) Minutes

All officers with the exception of Treasurer Andrew Babetski and Sergeant-at-Arms Wen Tan were present at the conference. The officers present were as follows:

President – Emily Snyder

Vice President – Geoff Quinque

Secretary – Travis Smith

Parliamentarian – Mike Rittenhouse

2 November 2006

            President Emily Snyder called the meeting to order at the Radisson Hotel in Camp Hill, Pennsylvania, with the secretary being present. The first meeting began at 8:43 p.m. The first topic of discussion was the attendance of officers so far.

            Next, the assignments for the POST articles from the cabin trip were re-arranged. Emily would write about TEAP due to Andrew’s absence. Andrew would now do “Why Regionals is Important,” and Travis would do “Why Nationals is Awesome.” The POST articles were still to be due on November 10, 2006.

            Then, we discussed what we would present to the Board of Directors (BoD) at the meeting the next day. We decided Chloe would talk about her POST articles. Geoff would explain his membership plans, and we would recap on what is going on at the State Conference. Emily would ask them for permission to do the BoD Pie-in-the-Face. We would ask how the planning for Friday was coming along. In addition, we would also explain how we are brining the mixer back and how the superhero theme is going to work.

            We then decided that the deadline for the posters that were assigned at the cabin would be pushed back to November 10, 2006. They needed to be e-mailed by that day. Also, all POST articles are due that day, and the deadline for the lines for the opening ceremony were pushed back to the 10^th too. If the things were not turned in, points would be deducted, 7 points for the POST and 2 points for the poster and 2 points for the lines. We then informed Bekky Jones of what was going on with the opening ceremony. Emily said she would take care of the posters getting on the website. Bekky said she would bring up the points so far with the officers to the BoD. Bekky also suggested having a Locks of Love cut at the State Conference. Brad suggested putting it in the name of all cancer victims.

The meeting recessed until the BoD meeting.

            The officers met with the board under their committee reports at 8:30 a.m. Geoff discussed his membership and the database Mr. Gold was making. Chloe announced she was going to try and send out the POST to each individual advisor. We asked about the Friday night carnival. Miss Lapinski said she and Mr. Roth are working on it. We discussed the mixer and the theme. Also, we talked about having the BoD Pie-in-the-Face. The BoD said they would be fine with that idea.

The meeting adjourned at 8:38 p.m.
